2016 Rd.3 China

McLaren-Honda is still struggling with aero stability and setup, which resulted in bad tyre degradation and lack of race pace.

The British squad improved setup in Melbourne even though the drivers couldn’t do any race simulation due to lack of stability Barcelona testing. But it’s not enough yet. Jenson Button showed 3rd fastest time in FP-2 in Bahrain but lost direction of setup after FP-3 and couldn’t advance to Q3.

The team introduced new front cascade wing in Melbourne, but it is till using 2 types of front wings, one has wider flap and endplate (UP), and the other has smarter flap and endplate (BELOW). These two types of flaps have been used from the last part of  last year.

Both drivers struggled with long run pace and couldn’t use Medium tyres well due to lack of earo stability.
